Are you happy with your life in the U.S. right now? Really happy?

I know I certainly wasn't.

It's not that my life back in the States was bad, exactly. It looked fine from the outside. I had a decent job in advertising that paid well enough for me to scrape together the money to buy a little apartment just south of San Francisco. I had a great group of friends. My dating life, while mostly revolving around the endless circus show of the apps, was vibrant (ish) and healthy (ish?) enough, I guess.

But as I made it past the chaos of my 20s and started to ask myself those big, scary questions that come with a little bit of age, more and more I found myself thinking: "Is this really all there is? Is this REALLY all my life is going to be?"

I'll share my full story with you later. But suffice it to say, as I sit here typing this on my laptop in a street side café in Montmartre, my girlfriend sitting across the table from me (doing something on her phone--typical), the answers to those questions turned out to be a big NO.

But it wasn't for nothing. It took a lot of work. Trial and error. Mistakes galore. Serious amounts of money I could've spent in SUCH more fun ways if only I'd had someone to guide me through the process of HOW to make this move happen and happen fast.
